What Is MBK Scholarship Foundation?

MBK Scholarship Foundation selects and supports students who pursue
their dreams of becoming future leaders with passion and dedication.
Selected scholars receive financial support, enabling them to focus fully on
their studies without concern for tuition or expenses.

This support includes full tuition and registration fees, textbooks, academic stipends,
merit-based scholarships, and additional academic incentives.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

To be eligible for an MBK scholarship, applicants must demonstrate financial need.
Once need is confirmed, the criteria for selection are 1) outstanding academic achievement,
as reflected in high school grades and the college entrance test, and 2) demonstration of
potential for leadership.

Applicants must be prospective students entering a four-year university in Korea.
There are no restrictions based on age, gender, or academic major. As a result,
MBK Scholars represent a wide range of disciplines, including the humanities and
social sciences, medicine and health sciences, and the arts and athletics.

What Is the Selection Process?

Our scholarships are grants in support of people, not institutions. Accordingly,
we provide scholarships directly to individuals rather than through institutions.
We do not accept recommendations or referrals from intermediaries.
The selection process takes place annually in January and consists of two stages:

First Round: Document screening
Second Round: In-person interviews for finalists

What Benefits Do MBK Scholars Receive?

MBK Scholars receive support for full tuition, registration fees, textbooks, academic stipends,
merit-based scholarships, exchange student scholarships, and expenses related to
MBK Scholar gatherings. Support is provided for the duration of undergraduate study,
up to eight semesters (subject to certain grade maintenance requirements).

Beyond financial assistance, MBK Scholarship Foundation is committed to being a rusted
mentor and long-term partner in each scholar’s academic and personal journey.

The Foundation actively fosters a strong sense of community through retreats, small-group
programs, and networking opportunities, enabling scholars to build meaningful and lasting
connections. A strong bond with fellow scholarship recipients is one of the most valuable
assets scholars gain from the Foundation.
